BTW- Trevor and Crew: I stared a FACT-BASED campaign against animal products in 2015. Still going on today. Designed to combat this kind of main steam bias by presenting just facts. You should really do your research before spewing pro-meat propaganda. Shame on you all. www.gotdrought.info Unlike you, we dont have corporate sponsors. Grassroots, baby.

I was a fan of your show, but yet I am again I am disappointed at your anti-vegan rhetoric. What did we ever do to you? Oh, wanting not to inflict pain and save the world is too horrible and boring. Let's all kill ourselves. Your writers (and you) need to wake up and get with the future. You sound like Fox News. Paying other people to kill and torture animals on your behalf is not cool. You just lost another fan. Bye Bye.

It's easier/better to be vegan than most people realize. Yeah it takes time to get used to a new lifestyle, but it's like with learning anything: the more you do it, the easier it becomes. And there are a lot more options out there on the market than before which make transitioning to a plant based lifestyle so much easier (though we should be limiting our processed food intake, but that's a topic for another time). Not only will it be better for the planet, but better for our overall health, particularly if our diets consist of mostly fruits/veggies/legumes/grains. Watch "Cowspiracy" and "Forks Over Knives" to better understand the connection to what we eat and the affects on our planet as well as our overall health.

It feels like this video was shared in some vegan group and now they're all coming here complaining about the jokes Trevor made, while proving his point at the same time. "Less red meat" isn't the same as "all meat." Plenty of fish and birds. Take the beef industry down a few dozen pegs is all. Sure, a steak will become way more expensive because of supply and demand, but better that than your children and grandchildren having to deal with...oh, wait, this is 'MURica! (TM). We don't care about our progeny, only ourselves! (Yeah, yeah, human nature and all, putting the "immediate rewards and concerns" ahead of the abstract of "future rewards and concerns." The U.S. is just so easy to target, though, because it's so in-your-face about denial and general stupidity. Exhibit A: Donald Trump is President of the United States, and has support so strong from his base that he has a legitimate chance at a second term.)

Go Vegans - I love it! You just need to really think about what it is that you are eating, including how they raise the animals, how they kill them, how they handle the meat in filthy conditions, how old and decaying it already is before it's even delivered to your grocery store, how they handle it and how long bacteria/s have been growing on it and inside it, then how long in your fridge while it's still decaying. It's truly disgusting!

I find this sadly funny because this knowledge about meat contributing to the crisis has been out there for many years but no one listened. I typically like Trevor, but this is disappointing. I think he needs to watch Dominion or Earthlings. If you don't give a shit about trillions of animals dying per year simply for human greed, maybe you'll care about the many human rights issues with animal ag? Visit a slaughterhouse. Is this work you'd want to do? Probably not, "out of sight, out of mind" for most. On top of this, heart disease is literally the number one killer and the only thing proven to actually reverse it, is a plant based diet. It's easy to mock vegans when you're uninformed I guess.

ok, Ashley, now you have gone totally off the chain here.

where did i say "intelligence dictates whether someONE (a person) deserves to live"?? huh? where? WHERE?
so, I am holier than thou cuz i dont have to lie & make up sh&t like you do because you cannot argue rationally.

@Jenn smith So intelligence dictates whether or not someone deserves to live? I won't even ask your stance on people with disabilities then, wow. Scary way of thinking. Again, who thinks they're "holier-than-thou" here?
I would have no problem with your food choices if they had no impact on other living beings or the planet that we all live on. It's quite simple. I will not be responding to further comments from you because you're wasting my time. I urge you to watch the documentary Earthlings and really see the industry you're supporting and defending. how can i have a "productive conversation" with someone like you who thinks they're no better than a pig or a chicken??

a productive conversation would be like this --
A - "you need to stop eating meat".
J - "where the hell do you get off telling me what to eat...it's none of yer frikkin business".
A - "ok, sorry, youre right, i was way out of line, i'll never do that to anyone ever again. i understand now why normal people cant stand vegans".

    • Ashley Riddle
      Ashley Riddle दिन पहले

@Jenn smith Why do you think we're superior to animals?
If you need to me explain sentience as well as central nervous systems in regards to plants and non-human animals, you'll have to go to Google for that one. I'm not wasting more of my time than I already have, trying to simply explain things to someone who refuses to even consider the things I'm saying and just wants a one-sided argument versus a potentially productive conversation.
You want me to leave you alone, yet you're coming back to comment on my comment? Hm. If you feel attacked and guilted, you should examine why exactly you feel that way. I can't make you feel anything, that's on you.
You don't know of anyone starving? Again, maybe take it to Google. You seem quite angry. No need to be concerned about "no one" liking me, you might want to focus on yourself, your actions, and how they impact others.

The problem is with the way that these manufacturing firms are producing it.
Therefore this “going vegan to save the planet” argument is weak.

You are right, there are ways to produce meat with less pollution. But that would require producing a even larger part in factory farms. Grass feed, free range animal agriculture is by far the worst for climate [1,2].

Not really, factory farming is as efficient as it can be (that is why it is so cruel)... Feeding plants to animals for months or years to only then kill and eat the animals is inherently less efficient than directly eating the plants.

      I suggest you watch Cowspiracy.

You people who are expressing disappointment in Trevor didn't get it. You seem to have missed the fact that he used the joke as a context to air information about the gravity of the situation, and the impact of eating meat. He played chilling news clips that drive home the point that a plant based diet is the direction to go. Part of humor is sarcasm and exaggeration. Unfortunately people can mistakenly take sarcasm literally.

For those of you who don't understand how creepy this is, imagine this wealthy adult man making these "jokes" in front of teenaged young lady global climate activists Greta Thunberg and Genesis Butler, women who will have to deal with climate change two to three decades longer than he will. Big man Trevor tell those children your steak is more important than their future.

Trevor Noah you are an entitled upper class privileged male using your position of power to make fun of people who are trying to save the human race from certain death, along with other animals. Your behavior is deplorable and inexcusable and unbefitting someone who pretends to be liberal or understand the science of climate change. How much money do you have to have to think it's funny to mock people trying to slow down climate change? You are a piece of shit.

Q: Isn't the South African diet much more plant based?
Obviously they do eat animal products. But doesn't that take up a lot less of their daily caloric intake than in the Western diet?

The vegan joke is telling because it hits at the heart of the hurdle to convince people to switch: the fact that people are so dead set assuming that tastes are permanent. I went whole food-plant based for my health and a lot of the old foods ,at first, I wanted to continue to eat. However, after a few weeks it was pretty tolerable and after a few months, it's really not a huge problem except some brief urge. Now, after 30 months, nothing. I don't care in the least to have anything I ate before.

People assume the food is just grass. There are tens of thousands of dishes vegans eat and there are many fat and happy vegans, trust me. You will acclimate, just like those who come to our culture and think the food is disgusting. Those immigrants come to 'love' and fully accept the food. The exact reverse is true.

The by far worst food for climate is meat from grass feed, free ranged animals [1,2]. The only way to sustainable source meat is by hunting overpopulating animals, like humans. I do not think that would be ethical but this has the best impact on the climate.

@sasquatch & fishing Beef is inherently less sustainable than plants, unless cows are able to break the laws of thermodynamics and reach efficiencies larger than 100%. Anyway, have a good one.

Yeah guys this should be a wake-up call to vote with your dollar. Don’t be a glutton, and buy the freshest, local, organic food you can. Live cheap, but buy expensive, top-quality, environmentally friendly, organic, fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, grains, and responsibly-raised animal products. Don’t buy that cheap fast food, subsidized, grain-fed, destructive horse shit. Your health, the planet’s health, and your brother’s/sister’s health/future is at stake here.

God Created Everything. The cattle eat grass but not grass plus something else so now we feed ourselves beef plus something else. We were generous to each other before , not anymore. There was God before, not anymore. We are completely run by the devil. There were real synogogues, mosks and churches run by rabbis, shieks and priests using The Tora, The Kor'an and The Bible. Now As believer in The Real Lord Jesus I Love any Seeing a Church or pastor but getting into it or approaching to the pastor has become a dillema. As a human being I Love them, but trusting them is gone.
There are ONLY THREE (3) PASTORS I trust 100%; T.B. Joshua In Lagos, ,Nigeria Alph Lukau in Johannesburg,South Africa and John Chi in Younde (Cameroon).

I get it. You like your meat. I watched your Hot Ones interview. I watched your Netflix specials. Stereotyping and mocking vegans, people that care and are actually willing to make changes to help, is not material for a funny punchline. You’re on the wrong side of a serious problem.
