british british the best planner in the world at that time in India they were afraid of a strong empire of Maratha! & How to invade After that war in afghanistan and especially still Active today in Afghanistan.
Directly the British are out of India but indirectly they are still in charge in India. The British are very smart and cunning people. If I can use the analogy of their political policy as a chess game they always think 100 moves ahead. Their plots are always flawless that's why they are successful in their game of divide and conquer!

Here are a few more problems with this movie:
    1) The cannons are inaccurate. The Marathas had around 150 light to medium artillery pieces, made in imitation of French cannons, with the exception that these were battery pieces and weren't mobile.
    2) The Marathas also had Gardi Musketeers and mostly light cavalry with the exception of the Huzurat cavalry (the best of the best picked by the Peshwa to form his guard) which was armoured.
    3) The Afghans on the other hand had both traditional and Musket Infantry, along with mailed cavalry and light cavalry on both horses and camels.
    4) The Afghans had the edge in terms of mobility with their camel mounted artillery pieces which could be shot while on the move. They were also high on morale and were supported by the Rohillas and The Nawab of Awadh.
    5) The Nawab of Awadh, joined the Afghans, as an ally of Abdali, who swore to destroy the Marathas, who had been a thorn in the Mughal side, and claimed sovereignty over the whole of India. The Marathas made the Mughals and their Nawabs their bitter enemies, by disrespecting the Great Mughal Shah-en-shah-e-Hind.
    6) The Nawab of Awadh, Shuja-ud-Daulah also wanted revenge for the Maratha raids in Awadh and Bengal. He supported the Afghans with 3000 troops consistenting of the famed Purbiya Brahmin Musketeers and huge finances, along with the information of routes through North India.
The prelude to the Battle was skirmishes between smaller detachments of both the sides, the Marathas held the edge here. They killed nearly 15,000 Afghan troops in a garrison in a fort and held it with 700-800 of their own troops.
In the next phase, the Afghans used their superior mobility and useful Rohilla allies to surround the Marathas and cut off their supplies. They retook the fort from the small Maratha garrison as well. Meanwhile, Abdali crossed the Yamuna.
In the final phase, the two sides met, the Marathas and the Afghans, both running low on supplies, but the Marathas were desperate for food. They had to fast in their camps and entrenchments, not to mention the fact that they had to support the thousands of family members of the soldiers and common citizens that had joined the Maratha army to visit holy shrines in the North, bringing whom was a great blunder by the Marathas.
The two sides met in the open field, here, the Marathas initially held the edge, with the Gardi Musketeers and swift cavalry, but then the Afghans invested their camel mounted artillery, to shoot Maratha infantry and cavalry up close while on the move, making the Maratha artillery redundant.
Abdali sent in his fresh armoured guard cavalry, to repeatedly charge the Maratha centre, and left, flanked with fresh Afghan infantry, from his camp, during the later hours of the battle.
Soon, the tired Marathas began losing ground, until finally they were broken and then began the great slaughter.
Nawab Shuja-ud-Daulah, showed exceptional bravery and leadership, holding his own in the Battle with just 3000 troops, while his fellow Afghan commander retreated at the Maratha charge.
Sadashivrao Bhau, was recognised by Abdali, who commented on the fearless attitude and spirit of the young general. He died during the battle.
